From the California Journal of Mines and Geology, Vol. 47, No. 1, Jan. 1951:
Owned by: D.H. Claire, P.O. Box 5, Trona, California.
Two 12-foot quartz veins in granite gneiss. Relocated by D.H. Claire in 1930. Reported by Claire to have produced $185,000 before 1930 and $75,000 from 1930 to 1942. Worked by 50-foot shaft and 3 tunnels.

Along with the Ratcliff Mine, the World Beater is currently being worked:
VANCOUVER, Aug. 20 /CNW/ - MBA Gold Corp. (TSX Venture: MBA-V) announces that drilling has begun today on its World Beater gold property located in a historic mining district West of Death Valley in Southern California. The World Beater gold property covers approximately 1,750 acres of patented and un- patented mine claims and includes two former mine sites; the Radcliff mine and the World Beater mine. The World Beater Property has undergone extensive exploration by previous operators Kerr-McGee, Echo Bay and Compass Minerals, including over 32,000 feet of drilling. MBA is targeting a potential underground-mineable gold deposit for the property. The Company feels that an underground operation would be more favourable for permitting in California and would provide the most effective means of exploiting the resource.

According to Sampson (1931), the World Beater and Radcliff gold deposits were discovered in 1896 and 1897. Production – reportedly on the order of 15,000 oz Au (470 kg Au) from 15,000 tons (13,600 tonnes) of ore – came mostly from the Radcliff Mine during the period of 1898 until 1903. The World Beater Mine produced on the order of 10,000 oz Au (310 kg Au) between 1896 and 1908. Total production for the two properties is approximately 25,000 oz of gold (780 kg Au). The property continued to be developed after the Sampson report (1931) was written (Drobeck, 1990), but details regarding production are unavailable.
