The HSS section started out as St. Xavier's College in the year 1963 beginning with First Year Arts and First Year Science classes (presently equivalent to Std. XI). In the year 1975-76 the higher secondary school was established as a separate +2 stage of the 10+2+3 scheme of education with late Rev. Fr. Dr. Nicolau G. Pereira as its founder.
