Lewisburg Borough is an historic community located on the banks of the beautiful Susquehanna River in Union County Pennsylvania. Lewisburg is also the primary commercial center of the area, with the greatest density of persons anywhere in the County. From its earliest days, the Borough served as the area’s commerce and service center.

Lewisburg is 30 miles (48 km) south by southeast of Williamsport and 60 miles (97 km) north of Harrisburg. The population was 5,620 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Union County.It is home to Bucknell University and is near the Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary. Its 19th century downtown was recently placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
