Barangay Potrero, from Spanish word Potrero meaning pasture land,is also the finest place in Malabon City not Valenzuela City. Also the highest part ,higher than Tugatog, the place is never flooded, is also the cradle of manufacturing and industrial sites in Manila, pioneered by early hard working and wealthy Chinese who escape and emigrated from China, during the communist inquisition of wealthy Chinese capitalist in mainland China. These Chinese capitalist introduced plastic ,steel ,glass confectionery, and food manufacturing in the Philippines..other mainland Chinese emigrated to Taipei, Singapore, Australia, Canada, etc.. During the fifties businessmen prefer to lived in Potrero due to proximity to Divisoria and Binondo, being the gateway to northern Luzon, since MacArthur Highway is only the main highway then; in comparison to Japanese and American investors who did business here, in which their profit were taken home to their own countries. The Chinese profit on the other hand were re invested and assimilated here, thereby increasing the Philippine economy and society. These Chinese businessmen, who started in Potrero eventually prospered and established their business offices to Makati for more international exchanges .and also transferred their dwellings to plus subdivisions.
