This barangay is formerly named Barangay Torres Bugallon, and on February 18, 1968, by virtue of approval of the Sangguniang Barangay (Village Council), it was named to Barangay General Tiburcio De Leon, one of Andres Bonifacio's generals of the Katipunan and later he joined in a revolutionary government by General Emilio Aguinaldo.
A stone memorial is erected in honor of him which is located in front of the barangay hall of this barangay.
