The five storey Richardson Romanesque building designed by Darling and Curry was constructed in 1892 as the Victoria Hospital for Sick Children. The new Sick Children's Hospital was constructed on University Avenue in 1951 and the building was subject to other uses until 1993 when it became home to the Canadian Red Cross Regional Blood Centre. It is now home to Canadian Blood Services, Downtown Toronto Branch
