Biyango (비양도) was formed in 1002 AD from a volcanic eruption. Jeju history describes the event as a rock which rose from the ocean as red water flowed from four holes. Today, the island is inhabited. Both the peak and bottom of the crater of this extinct volcano is open for visitors to explore.
