MacMillan Bloedel Building (Vancouver)

Canada / British Columbia / Vancouver / West Georgia Street, 1075
 office building, 1960s construction

The concrete twin towers connected together officially opened on December 12, 1968. The architect was Arthur Erickson who, prompted by this building, came to consider concrete "the marble of the 20th century". The building was built for forest industry giant MacMillan-Bloedel, and carried its name until 1999, when sold to Weyerhaeuser. 1075 has BOMA Go Green certification.
The building is still known as MacBlo, sometimes Arthur Erickson, but mostly as the 'concrete waffle'.
