  • Having lived on this estate for almost 40years the above comments are way out of date ! Every comunity where ever its placed has from time to time some problems and Lukes Lane to be fair has at one point or another had its share..but i believe recent efforts to rid the estate of the low opinion some people had of it have begun to have some effect.There is a mix of both counsil and private houses and would people really move and purchase a house on an estate that is so crime ridden and violent ? Its so true the saying mud sticks !!
  • The estate was actually built in the 60's, not the 70's - I've lived there since 1967. For the record, Lukes Lane has the lowest crime rate in Hebburn, and Hebburn has the lowest crime rate in the Northumbria Police force area, and Northumbria Police record some of the lowest levels of crime in the UK. The sense of community here is outstanding. The estate is clean. It has a first rate school and a community action group who have striven for years to make the area a place to be proud top grow up in. Where does our detractor get his information? Maybe he was jilted by a lassie who lived here :-)
  • To be fair, the only reason why Lukes Lane and Hebburn have low crime rates is because 95% of victims or offenders don't bother informing the police, "We Are Not Grasses" Ive lived on Lukes Lane most of my life and it has had more than it's fair share of problems, I was once a part of the problem when I was younger, I would not recommend living on Lukes Lane but not because of the crime rate, it's just a ugly Estate and I wouldn't even let my dog live on there.
  • I have just visited Blackpool parade on the estate on bussiness and was subjected to torrents of abuse from Windows and strange looks from the passerbys not a nice place I'm sorry if it offends but is a very peprived area and not a place I would care to visit again
