Artificial Riverbed for the river Kander, created 1713 to diveret the river into Lake Thun to prevent chronic flooding north of Thun at the historic confluence of AAre and Kander.

Originally plabned as a tunneled canal, but tunnel collapsed in 1714 and the river eroded a canyon in the formerlly solid hill.
