Piqua, the home of the singing Mills Brothers, was historically where Native Americans lived along the Great Miami River. The John Johnston farm, north of Piqua, was the home of the Indian agent and is now an historical site with a restored farmhouse and an actual canal boat nearby. The Miami-Erie canal passed through Piqua, Troy and Dayton, linking Toledo with the Ohio River. Piqua was the home of Favorite home products, including cast-iron skillets, now collectors items.
