There is a short but popular walking track through this stretch of bush. In 1993, the city closed the track due to erosion caused by a brush catcher in the adjacent stream. Over the following year, L.H.P. Yarroll, with the help of a few of the local kids, built a stone retaining wall to protect the walking track.
