    During the 1980s, South Africa pursued research into nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons.Nuclear weapons were developed at this site to be used as a deterent sholud we ever be invaded. However, only 6 working warheads were developed by the time that FW Deklerk came into power. Sources claim that there is still a certain degree of military activity at the site by the ruling ANC government. Do you think that the ANC just came into power and and did not utilize the current military capabailities of the previous apartheid governmnent?? For the last 10 years, the ANC has been very busy at pelindaba. i doubt this is for the use of a nuclear test reactor that is located on the site. Chemical weapons are still to this day being produced in labs underneath/underground the pelindaba site.
