The archaeological site of an ancient Mesopotamian city, tentatively identified as ancient Tadum, later Taite or Taidu. It is attested from the Old Babylonian period through the Mittanian (when it functioned as a royal residence) and Assyrian Late Bronze Age. However, the identification is not undisputed, and the same or like-named town named Tidu in Neo-Assyrian times has been located far to the north on the Tigris, or much closer at Kiziltepe (by Lipinski).
