German Command Bunker R636

This is the bunker used to command the german forces at Pointe du Hoc. Also the artillery was given coordinates to fire on from here.
This is a Regelbau 636 Firecontrol Post bunker. The uncovered top differentiates it from the 636a.
This may be the most famous bunker in the Atlantikwall for Americans, as it is near where the Rangers scaled the cliff.
In the 1990s the bunker was at risk of following off the cliff. The cliff has been beatifully restored.
