Lived in this complex from 1971-1974 (height of smuggling era, I have seen gold bars known as biscuits - 10-15 per 'rectum" being excreted on the floor- Sheth kaka ni pencil, doing the trick). All the grounds were full of confiscated cars, many of foreign make including VW Beetle (had only 180 miles on it), Mercedez, DeSoto, Chevrolet (Impalas) etc. One Suprintendednt (Mr Pradhan) a4-5 inspectors, two clerks, and a dozon Sepoys lived in this compound. There was a communal well in the center of the compound and lots of mango trees in the vicinity. there were not more than 10 Taxis plying between Vapi & Daman. The bus service was about 8 - 10 trips per day. Golden days of my life.
