Laie Hawaii Temple

USA / Hawaii / Laie / Naniloa Loop, 55-600
temple, LDS Church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), mormon

Laie Temple is located in the heart of Laie and is also considered it's spiritual heart (Laie is predominantly Mormon).

Different than a usual chapel, the temple is used for special religious instruction and ceremonies such as marraiges. Similar to a
cathedral in importance, the temple, along with the "Big Island" Kona, Hawai'i temple (completed 1999) serves the Hawaiian isles.

Completed in 1919 and extensively renovated in 1978, the Temple is built in the shape of a greek cross (all sides being of equal
length). Extensive tropical gardens complete the serene, beautiful scene.

The temple grounds and visitor center are open to the public. You can ask the volunteer guides for a historical tour or a more
religious orientation.
