History: In 1854 Jeremiah Wilcox built a house to sell on a portion of his property. Russel Jennings bought it and later donated it to the Baptist Church to use as their parsonage. His agreement with the Church Trustees stated that the house could be sold when they chose as long as the money was reinvested in another house for a parsonage. So, in 1893, when a parsonage was built next to the church, the house was sold to Hanna Alexander, the first of many new owner. The house was turned into a two-family house sometime in the early 1900s and remained as such until it was renovated by Charles and Janet Irving into a residence. Jack & Sosse Baker next owned the building. Source: "The Houses & History of Chester", The Chester Historical Society, Inc., September 1984.
