    Not a very interesting town. They do have a small, attractive shopping mall, and you can get great foot massages here very cheap. There are old carving on rocks in the nearby mountain. When I was there, I passed an elementary school during lunchtime, and scores of kids followed me, some holding my hands, some trying to show off the little English they knew,. Many of the kids stopped at candy stores on the mall to buy candy. It is a six hour train ride from Fuzhou to Shaowu where you can boat the Wu Yi Shan rapids on a bamboo raft, and can visit an ancient Chinese town.

    It is a short bus ride from here to Pu Tian where one can take a boat out and visit a couple of interesting temples.
