History: Although it has been impossible to trace this house to before 1851 when Charles Foster sold it to Levi Churchill, it appears from structural details that the original house consisted of a small one-story commercial building built prior to 1800. the rear two-story section was added sometime around 1830. Harlow Lewis owned the house for many years in the late 19th century. Charles and Barbara Pollard lived here from 1925 to 1979. After a fire destroyed part of the house, it was reconstructed by David and Judy Joslow. It was bought by John G. and Ellen Cordier in 1983, who also bought and restored the Sherman place next door.
