All saints church

Sweden / Norrbotten / Kiruna /

This striking church was built in 1944 to the design of Hakon Ahlberg. It draws on traditional models of church building, and features a seperate belfry, typical of Swedish rural churches. It is particularly notable for the interior glass paintings of Einar Forseth. It serves a congregation of the established Swedish National (Lutheran) Church. From the beginning the church was situated on Kaptensvägen, in the middle of "Gropen". 1974 it was moved due to the risk of landslide.
