The Old Post Office, also known as the United States Government Building, was built from 1879 to 1883. The Old Post Office is a 3 story granite building with 4 or 5 story towers at each corner. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
Today it is occupied by the State University of New York's administrative offices and it is connected by a walkway to the Delaware and Hudson Railroad Company Building, which is also occupied by SUNY.
