Driving by the A8 highway between Fréjus and the A57 intersection, the rock of Roquebrune-sur-Argens stands majestic above the Argens valley with its reddish vertical sheers. Geologists explain its existence as a “cone of dejection” formed from eroded granitic rocks. More than rock, to the neighboring Roquebrune-sur-Argens and Le Muy, it is an ever-present symbol, a sort of Eiffel Tower of the eastern Var. For hikers, it the beginning and the dramatic backdrop to many walks on and around The Rock. Stay away from "Privé" areas where trespassing may not be allowed. AzurAlive.com
