  • My Mother was born in Vankaner in 1942 but I imagine that life has changed as have all the people who live in the village. She often speaks of fond memories of the village so I always will hold this as a special place that one day I must visit. She married someone from near by village called Rayam....moved to the Uk in 1960s and now they have retired as NRIs back in Navsari! so they have gone full circle back to motherland...the best place on earth...

The majority of population now is NO longer of matiya patidar Ideal place to retire. Good telecommunication and internet broadband facilities available in this village, which is just 7 kms away from Bardoli town. Living in Mumbai(Bombay) i do visit my ancestors vilalge annually in winter . Have develpoed sort of an attachement with thos place I feel somebody should organise a convention say 2-3 years from now wherby ALL the VAnkaner inhabitants of past can get together ANyone interested email me at meetaryan@hotmail.com
  • Vankaner is my home town.spend 22 years in the town. Migrated to U.S.A. in 1971. went back to home in 1978, 1989 when my father passed away before he made to vankaner.,1996 at that time my mother sold the house. 2001 S.k.p.s high school started computer class and was in need to purchase more computer and my mother decided to donate Rs550,000 and i personally went to vankaner to fulfill my mother's wish as she was not in good health. since than i am going almost every year.I still miss my hometown.I read snajay comments and kind of in same thinking that we all should get gether and know each other.
