Popularly known as the Duwan Singh Syiem bridge, it is named after the ruler of Sohra during the 19th century.
From this bridge starts the Sohra (Cherrapunjee) sector providing spectacular views with deep gorges along the side of the road and plateaus running parallel across the gorges. Clouds come across the plains of Bangladesh and fill up these gorges, more so during the monsoons.
Near the bridge is the first of many view-points around Sohra as one comes from Shillong.
