The Acorn Projects are historically notorious in West Oakland. Recently re-built in an attempt to erase their negative past, these projects look great from the outside. However, high crime still plagues this section of West Oakland, and the Acorn Projects are at the heart of that.

  • everytime im on bart i look down toward west oakland and get a little sad. theres a lot of poverty but you can see "knots" wandering everywhere. it would be a tough place for a kid to grow up.
