A "Tabun" is a traditional baking place .This is one of the few remaining Tabuns in Kafr Sur ( may be only 5 still exist ) and the only one located on a major street which makes it one of the landmarks of Kafr Sur ! No bread on earth can rival the tabun bread .Also the food made in tabun is unmatched delicacy ...here are some of the dishes that are best made in tabun : roasted chicken and meat , Kafta , baked potatoes , eggplants for baba ghanouj , baked tomatoes , bread for musakhan , hilba sweets ( made of flour, ground fenugreek , black seeds ...) , potatoes and lamb saniya , roasted almonds or peanuts , manaqeesh zaatar , zaatar bread (made of fresh Palestinian zaatar -Majorana syriaca - leaves )....... what else ?!! bona apetit !
