established in 1962 with donations from the people of Kafr Sur >It started as a full elementary school (up to sixth grade ) and there were 4 rooms and a long viranda: principal and teachers room located in the north and at the end of the viranda , then the 5th and 6th grades , 3rd and 4th grades , and 1st and 2nd grades . Separate from the main building there was a a small washroom .There is a relatively large area of land surrounding the school : the front yard is a play ground and near the entrance is planted mainly with pine and few eucalyptus trees , while the backyard is rigged and steep planted with almond trees and in betwween and betwwen the rocks are several small lots allocated to students to plant ! The school started with the principal Badri Hanoun , who takes credit of developing the school to what it is now , and remained in this position until early 1980's when he was "toppled" from the position in a , least to say , unfriendly coup .Along with him there were two other teachers : Shafeeq Hattab and Hosni Samour >
In 1970 the school got a generous donation from the wife of Rida Qaddoumi which was enough to add another room and expand to seventh grade . As a result four new teachers were appointed (while Hosni Samour was transfered to a school in his city of Tulkarm ) : Mohammed Sabah , Akram Awwad , Usama Awwad and Hani Siyyad . Akram and his brother Usama were very innovative and they brought in new spirit to the school : in their first year they built a modern chicken farm which generated some income to the school .They also organized a student run festival at the end of the school year to which the people of the village were invited and donations collected which was enough sum of money to build another room .As a result the school expanded in 1971 to 8th grade .That festival became a tradition until it was canceled by the next principal .So by 1973 it was a full preparatory school .The school expanded to later become full secondary school in late 1980's .However spiritually the schoolwas declining from 1975 onward , and its haydays were the period of 1970-1975 ! Other new ideas that Akram and Usama brought to Kafr Sur school were : the annual exhibit of student made crafts and models , and the school trip , the first trip was in April 1972 to Nazareth , Tiberia and its lake , Acre and Haifa .
