Rayat College of Law was established three years ago and is one of the 12 institutes run by Rayat & Bahra Group of Institutes. Affiliated to the prestigious Panjab University, Chandigarh and duly approved by the Bar Council of India, the college is fast emerging as a centre of excellence in the field of legal education. The college lies close to the historic town of Ropar and so is not only within reach of the Shivalik Hills but is superbly placed to reach the University resources of Chandigarh within an hour. As part of a sprawling world class campus located in an idyllic setting on the Ropar-Jalandhar highway, the college provides an ideal ambience for the pursuit of knowledge.

The vision of the Management of Rayat and Bahra Group of Institutes is to make Rayat College of Law an institution of great excellence with pan-Indian visibility and reach by training the future lawyers to be professionally competent, socially responsive, emotionally balanced and spiritually alive so that they become the soldiers of justice in the service of society.

Law and medicine are the two most important professions because they take care of the health of a civilized society in totality. Law defends the macrocosmic entity, that is, the society and medicine looks after the microcosm, that is, the individual’s health. As life becomes increasingly complex in the fast changing flux of globalized civilization, the role of law, both as an instrument of social change and as a defender of societal values becomes one of paramount significance. We are proud of the fact that ours is the first private unaided law college affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh, one of the most revered names in the field of higher education in India. Recognising the merit of the College, Panjab University made it an independent examination centre in November, 2005. The College has been conducting the University Examination with distinction.
