Established in 1995, Rugged Liner is a leading manufacturer of pickup truck bedliners and accessories. The 250,000 sq. ft. factory features injection molding, thermoforming and fabrication capabilities.

The building was originally constructed by the government during WWII and operated by Bendix Aviation producing carburetors for airplane engines. After the War, in 1946, the plant was sold to Electric Autolite which manufactured automobile batteries. In 1961 Autolite was acquired by Ford which was later ordered to sell the plant by the Courts.

Pursuant to the order the property was sold in 1972 to Globe Union Inc which continued to make batteries. In 1978 Globe Union was acquired by Johnson Controls which operated the battery plant until 1994 when it was closed due to the declining market and foreign competition. In 1995 the plant was sold to Rugged Liner.
