The building dates to at least 1892; it was purchased in 1914 and converted into the Tourtellotte Memorial Deaconess Home, where it housed deaconesses of Asbury Hospital, which originally occupied what is now Miller Hall (it was never a home to the family that it was named after, their mansion was nearby and demolished as the area became filled with the apartments in the first half of the 20th century). North Central bought the former Tourtellotte mansion in 1968 along with Carlson Hall and took possession of it in 1969.
