MUTTAM GATE (Muttam)

India / Kerala / Manjeshwar / Muttam

Situated at 5 Kms. from both Kumbla & Uppala, close to the old Shiriya Railway Station. It is also shortly called Mutta was a small fishermen village which is closed to Muttam Beach. The beach location is called Bengara where a small riverlet joins the sea at Estuary(ADHI). There was no raod connection from Muttam to Bengara till recently due to the riverlet. Now there is a small bridge with water locking gate on it to stop the salt water flowing backward from the sea. After Kunil School, Muttam Gate has become a prominent place in this region. All the long distance service buses stop at this place. Kunil School, Kunil Mosque, Abbas Musliyar Dargah, Old Kunil Farms & Shiriya Railway Station are the prominent places of Muttam Gate.
