This fair celebrated in every year in the month of September.
Devotees believe by offering pooja during this fair at Mandir,
they are safe from snakes for whole year.
Last year there was a Horse fair held for the first time. Now its going to take place every year. I have so much to share about this village and about people of this village. I don’t think there will ever be enough time and the talent to arrange and put together that information in an arranged manner. Lets start with famous names that are used to refer families living in this village Please help me add if you know I am sure I will not get all 1. Chitty Kapria wale 2. Tubay puta dey 3. Gaddi mara dey 4. Gaddra wale 5. beetha khaney kay 6. sarpuch dey 7. bibi kay 8. chaudria day 9. gilla day 10. mahanta day 11. to be continue

  • I thank you all who have given their rememberable remarks for Chhapar village. I've initiated & identified Chhapar on this map & request all must provide any famous & imp facts related to this village which they know. Especially I liked remarks for used to family names of `Chaapar da munda' I'll add two 1. Hare Chubare wale 2. Sahukar ke 3. Khu wale But now development of this village is ruined by dirty politics for Sarpanchi. Group-ism must work positively for development of village rather than spoiling youth towards group squabbles, drinking & drugs. Hope for good well & prosperity of this village.

  • In late thirties or early forties my father was a Thanedar assigned to maintain law and order at Chhapar Mela. Although my father was employee of Patiala State but was sent to Chhapar. I believe in olden days Maler Kotla did not have well organized police etc. My maternal uncle lived at Baur Haeii Kalan near Mandi Ahmad Garh. I heard a lot of fun stories about this Mela from my relatives. THanks sharing history of the Mela, it brought back a lot of emotional feelings.
