End of Abington Manor Drive off of Holland Cliffs Rd. Public access (Calvert Co. statute) even though the land immediatley to the north is private and immediately to the south is also private (owned by the local homeowners association.) No parking within 150 yards, and no overnight parking at all in this suburban residential area.....the Kings Landing Park put-in just over a mile upriver is much better in every regard if the park's hours are convenient.

  • Actually, the road used to be along the river which gave a lot of access to the public. A developer wanted to build waterfront homes and entered into an agreement with the county to re-route the road to it's current location. The county did not want to restrict public access to the river so they made the developer create the community lot. However, over time a group of people created the "Homeowner Association" and decided to disregard it's agreement with the county. They put up fences and posted signs to restict public access. Legally, the public has use of the entire beach.
