In 1939 Sol Miller opened the Hartville Livestock Auction to supply cattle and livestock to local farmers and businesses. When the auction house grew, his wife began to cook meals for local sellers that also showed up at the auction to sell their wares. Before long the flea market had become a local attraction. In 2002 the Market moved to this new location indoors that offers a year-round indoor farmer's market along with a three-season outdoor flea market.
