Hotel Nacional Rio (Rio de Janeiro)

Designed by Brazil's most noted architect, Oscar Niemeyer, who also designed the city of Brasilia. Built 1968-1972 as the Hotel Nacional, later known as the Hotel Horsa Nacional Rio. Closed 1995 and abandoned for twenty years. Restored and reopened in 2017 as the Gran Meliá Nacional Rio de Janeiro, left Meliá in 2018.
