Theodore Wirth was a famous superintendent (from 1906-1935) of the Minneapolis Park Board and essentially designed the city's park system. This house was built for him and was important in convincing him to take the job. Most of the planning work took place in this house, and it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
