Rock Island Lake is a lake approximately 105 kilometers north of Athabasca, Alberta, and about 45 kilometers north of Calling Lake. The lake is probably named after a very shallow patch of water where a little bit of land shows. The pelicans like to sit at the island. Camping is available beside Rock Island Lake at Tanasiuk Provincial Recreation Area, where there is a boat launch.
