Cottage of Mother Westman
Anna Lena Westman (1744-1837) was a seaman's widow, who started a school for children in her home in the mid-1790s. A small chamber in the attic served as a classroom. In the years 1810-1812, J. L. Runeberg was a student in the school. Today the cottage houses an exhibition about Runeberg's time in Jakobstad.
