Danao, officially the City of Danao, (Cebuano: Dakbayan sa Danao; Tagalog: Lungsod ng Danao), or simply known as Danao City, is a 3rd class city in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 136,471 people.

Crime rate is comparatively very low than in other places in the Philippines ironic to the fact that almost all sorts of guns are manufactured here. If there are drug addicts here, so also in some places in Manila where crime rate is high anywhere and everywhere in the country. Danaoanons are peace loving people, they live a simple life.
