The Founder of The Salvation Army,William Booth's Birthplace.
William Booth was born at 12 Notintone Place Sneinton,Nottingham on 10th April 1829.
At the time the 3 houses that make up the Salvation Army Museum,Numbers 10,12 and 14 Notintone Place stood independently as they do today.In the 1830's they became a part of a terrece of three-storey houses,which were eventually demolished in the city redevelopment schemes of the late 1960's.The three original houses were retained and restored and the site around redeveloped by The Salvation Army to include an elderly persons home and a goodwill community centre.
The restoration and development was carried out in 1969-1971.
