The complex was opened on October 1st 1971 and has been built up around the birthplace of the founder of the Salvation Army,William Booth.
The complex is a community centre providing a caring service for the community of Nottingham.Services include a playgroup;a day centre for the elderly;The Intone Club for people aged 18-80 with disabilities and difficulties.
The complex provides emergency provisions,such as food parcels,bedding,clothes and furniture.Chritian worship and activities for adults and Children.There is a Charity shop and the Salvation Army Museum.
In May 2005 a learning centre was opened with 6 computers that will be accessible as a resource for the whole community.
