The Penn Avenue Arts District is an area in East End of Pittsburgh that is transforming itself into a vibrant arts district. Originally
conceived as a joint project of the Community Development Corporations, the Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation (BGC) and Friendship
Development Associates (FDA) Inc., the one mile stretch has become home to a diverse group of Arts organizations and individual
artists. Among those calling the Avenue home are the Pittsburgh Glass Center, Dance Alloy, Garfield Artworks, Modern Formations,
and numerous smaller venues and artists.
