  • This is a combined cycle power plant... not a Hydroelectrical Plant. :)
  • Almost correct, this plant consist of several power generating units. The most recent units are unit#8 and #9 which are Combined Cycle and they do use Natural Gas as fuel, they are rated at 270MW each the older units #5 and #6 were upgraded a few years back, they were burning heavy fuel oil and for start up light fuel oil (Diesel,)these are conventional Boilers/Furnace type and they generate 160MW each. Unit 7 is a 7FA? GE unit and uses Natural Gas too rated at 160 MW. Two smaller units rated at 35MW each were built and retrofitted by GE and they are used as peakers. Units 1 trough 4 were decommissioned several years ago and were planned to be sold to S.A Peru.
