city, sector

Hull was founded in 1800 by Philemon Wright, making it older than Ottawa. Hull was amalgamated with other area municipalities and is now part of the City of Gatineau, Québec. It is the oldest and most centrally located of these former municipalities. The older downtown part of Hull contains offices for about 20,000 public servants in the Federal Public Service. Hull is also home to the Casino of Lac-Leamy, the cultural centre of the Outaouais region, a shopping mall, and the city hall of Gatineau.
