  • it all depends on the master plan - how well the bus system is integrated with other infrastructure like the airport, train station and most important of all the shuttle system for the residents of chandigargh city itself. are we planning for the present or the future? my humble opinion is that the planners visit some foreign countries for first hand knowledge of the integration system so that travel becomes as seamless as possible. most good planners will integrate all major forms of transportation into one one kind of hub. of course it may not be cost effective to realign the airport, the train station and the bus station but that is the solution of the future. otherwise we will go on building without definite plan and by the time the system is ready it is already absolete and inadequate for the needs like the IGIA in delhi e.g.
