Oriented aisled cruciform church with surrounding churchyard, a square tower at the west, rectangular chancel and sacristy in the south choir armpit.
Earliest mention of the church in 1117. Probably originally a Roman aisled hall church (XII-XIII) of irregular gray stone blocks.
