Due to the lack of soil depth on the top of a chalk hill, Beech Farm land is grazing only. It is bisected by a Public Footpath running approx. North/South. A long term resident of the fields is an enormous steer, a neutered male bovine over 6 feet tall called Rudy. He is a popular friend to passing ramblers.
