building, gate, archaeological site
Built as part of the temple's court by Shoshenq I (c. 943-922 BC), the Bubastite portal's decoration was completed under his son Osorkon II (I) (c. 922-887 BC). The outer wall of the temple of Amun immediately east of the portal contains a list of cities conquered by Shoshenq I during his campaign in Palestine.
