Saint Amand and Saint Job Church (Astene)

Built in 1834-36 to replace the old and expired too small Romanesque church on the 'kapellenberg' at the Lys river, that was demolished in 1836. New church with pseudo-basilica instance, three aisles and five bays. illuminated by arched windows and blind semicircular choir. Original west façade with Neo-classical pilaster façade. In 1878, expansion of the church with bays., Installation of two windows in the choir and construction of a towering in-built square west tower. Heavily damaged during WW I and WW II when blowing up the bell tower, restored in 1920.
